GIACOMETTI/ MORANDI. STILL MOMENTS
This exhibition brings together for the first time the works of two major post-war artists. Although Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) and Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964) were contemporaries, they never crossed paths, yet there are many essential similarities between them. This exhibition is the first opportunity to explore these similarities: their singular practice of the studio, their attachment to a familiar environment and models, and an original search born of attention to reality.
Bringing together the collections of the Fondation Giacometti with loans from the Museo Morandi in Bologna and private European collections, this exhibition offers a cross-section of their careers.
In collaboration with the Settore Musei Civici Bologna | Museo Morandi.
